I’m so honored you’re here, learning more about wedding photography and Melissa Hirsch Photography.
I’m an Alabama-born, Ohio-raised girl in Denver.
When I’m not shooting, I’m hanging with my husband and pugs, watching my latest favorite show on Netflix. There’s usually a glass of wine or craft beer involved.
I also LOVE to travel. The crazy photo at the top of this page is from the Robot Restaurant in Tokyo – SO worth googling! What should I add to my list? Where are your favorite places to visit?
Why are you a wedding PHOTOGRAPHER?
Growing up, I had a lot of trouble fitting in – though many people who knew me then might be surprised to hear that. Others, maybe not so much! I could play the part and smile and get along, so things often looked OK on the outside, but inside, they were not.
I remember fantasizing about falling in love, getting married, and living happily ever after to create that feeling of belonging I craved.
And despite how ridiculous and unrealistic that sounds, it happened.
It looked nothing like I thought it would. And there were difficulties and struggles along the way. But it happened.
I know what love can do: its magic and its power. And that’s why I do what I do.
I want to know YOUR story. To honor and celebrate that moment you start your new life together.
The quote that drives my whole business is by my favorite photographer, Annie Leibovitz.
“A thing you will see in my photos is that I’m not afraid to fall in love with these people.”
I hope you can see that love in my photos when I tell YOUR wedding story.
Style and Photo-Philosophy:
I interfere when I need to, and don’t when I don’t! This is your day, and it’s about you enjoying it.
Most of my clients value candid or photojournalistic wedding photos, but still want some beautiful portraits of their family, friends, wedding party. And of course, plenty of time for their couple’s wedding photos.
The rest of the time, I’m photographing your story as it unfolds, with no agenda.
